Coach Evaluation

Are you a BC Provincial Sport Organization (PSO) who's coaches need to be evaluated? Do you struggle with the geographical restraits of not enough evaluators in all regions of the province? Do you have problems with the amount of time required for an evaluation to take place, and the problems of coach and evaluator travel and expenses to do so?

If so, Coaches BC can make this process streamlined and cost-efficient, and we take care of everything. From instruction of the process, to loan of the video kits (HD video camera, remote control tripod, and blue tooth wireless microphone), to the online evaluation meetings, we do it all. The best part is, there is no additional cost to the evaluation (not including evaluator honorarium costs already in place through the PSO).

The only work that is reqiuired from the Provincial Sport Organization is to review the sample website page below and customize it, if necessary, for your sport. Coaches BC will train your evaluators in the logistics of the program. Once the program is running, which can happen as fast as you need it to, the only maintenance work from the PSO is sending the personalized link for the evaluation tool to their coaches when they are ready to begin the process!

<Provincial Sport> Evaluation Process & Registration

Welcome to the <Provincial Sport> Online Evaluation.  The purpose of the Coach evaluation, either by an on-site Evaluator, or via video submission, is to assess the Coach's ability to successfully demonstrate their competency in planning and conducting a meaningful practice. By successfully demonstrating this support to athletes in training, the Coaches will continually improve their personnel coaching skills, and players will develop to their true potential!

Please review the logistics below prior to registering and renting the Video Kit.

Step by Step Outline

  1. After a Coach submits the “Request for Evaluation” form to <Provincial Sport>, two things will happen:
    1. <Provincial Sport> will forward the Coach a link to the evaluation website (you are here now).
    2. <Provincial Sport> informs Coaches BC that a request for evaluation has been received.
  2. The Coach registers for the evaluation by clicking the "Register Now" button below.  Throughout the registration process, you must be prepared to provide a credit card number for the $250 Refundable Deposit for the rental of the video camera, bluetooth microphone and tripod. Once registration is received, Coaches BC will  send an email to the Coach indicating when the video kit has been mailed or where to pick it up.
  3. Coach receives the video equipment and records his/her practice using the guidelines outlined by <Provincial Sport> (see generic Video requirements below). Video equipment must be returned within 10 days of receipt.
  4. When the Coach has successfully completed recording the required practice, and they have completed all of the required documents, the coach emails Coaches BC indicating that they are ready to upload their video and related evaluation documents (ie. Practice plans, etc.). All files must be in either .doc or .pdf file formats.
  5. Coaches BC schedules an on-line meeting with the Coach, and will walk the Coach through the uploading of the video and required practice plans.
  6. Coaches BC informs a Certified <Provincial Sport> Evaluator that an evaluation request has been made, and grants the Evaluator access to the Coach's video and related evaluation documents.
  7. The Evaluator performs the evaluation and uploads his/her completed evaluation of both the video and the documents. Evaluator will complete the evaluation within 10 days of receipt of notice.
  8. Evaluator informs Coaches BC when the evaluation is finished and Coaches BC sets up a debrief meeting between both the Coach and Evaluator.
  9. Upon successful completion of the evaluation, Coaches BC provides <Provincial Sport> link to the Coach's video and all evaluation documents, for their records.
  10. <Provincial Sport> completes the appropriate paperwork for certification to ensure that the Coach receives credit on their NCCP transcript.
